Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Blackfoot

Blackfoot came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Hillcrest Knights with a sharp 15-3 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Brianna Reynolds was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma McGuire, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Blackfoot lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in six consecutive contests.

Blackfoot's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hillcrest, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.

As of now, neither Blackfoot nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
