Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Superior Bobcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They lost to Fort Benton on the road by a decisive 44-30 margin on Saturday. Superior's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Superior's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaxson Green, who threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Gannon Quinlan also helped out as he racked up 133 receiving yards.
Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fort Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Superior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fort Benton will take on Fairview at TBD on Saturday. One thing working in Fairview's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
