The Wakefield School Fighting Owls can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 46-15 win over Randolph-Macon Academy on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wakefield School also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Leading Wakefield School to victory were Ceci Turner and Meira Barnaby. Turner scored 15 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Barnaby scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Turner hasn't dropped below four steals for 14 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aya Mason, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Despite the loss, Randolph-Macon Academy still got an impressive performance from Berkley Bennett, who scored eight points.
Wakefield School's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Wakefield School will be playing at home against Foxcroft at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield School's defense has only allowed 14.6 points per game this season, so Foxcroft's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, they will head out on the road to take on King Abdullah Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. King Abdullah Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
