Basketball Recap: Fall River Piles Up the Points Against Etna

There's no place like home for Fall River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Etna Lions 69-23 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant victory of the season.

Fall River got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mylah Darnell out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 steals. Darnell is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reese Cassity, who posted 23 points along with seven boards and six steals.

Fall River was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Fall River's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Etna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Fall River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-21 win against Mt. Shasta on the 24th. As for Etna, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-27 defeat against Modoc on the 24th.
