Basketball Recap: Green City Piles Up the Points Against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris

Green City put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 101-35 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-20.

Grundy County/Newtown-Harris' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Miller, who posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That was a full 37.1% of Grundy County/Newtown-Harris' points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Bower, who put up seven points and five rebounds.

Green City pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green City will host Gallatin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, they will welcome Bucklin-Macon County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
