The Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Clark Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mater Academy East Las Vegas' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
On Monday, Mater Academy East Las Vegas made easy work of Cheyenne and carried off a 12-2 victory. Considering the Knights have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Camryn Reyes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Mater Academy East Las Vegas got a massive performance out of Beyonce Felix, who went 1-for-3 with six stolen bases and two runs. Those six stolen bases gave Felix a new career-high. Nataly Guevara Hernandez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Clark hadn't done well against Cimarron-Memorial recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Chargers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spartans 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since March 5th.
Like Mater Academy East Las Vegas, Clark also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophia DeMonbrun. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. DeMonbrun was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noel Gregorich, who went 1-for-3 with six stolen bases and one run. Kaynina Afemata also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Clark has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, their record now sits at 14-8.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas came out on top in a nail-biter against Clark in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
