Allen Eagle Stadium to open Aug. 24

After an initial scrimmage at its 18,000-seat, $59.6 million stadium on Aug. 24, Allen's football season will kick off Aug. 31 against No. 7 Southlake Carroll.

The new Eagle Stadium will seat 18,000 fans. The home side will have 9,000 seats, including 1,000 set aside for the Escadrille (band and color guard), 4,000 in the end zone for students and 5,000 seats for the visiting section.

A 5,800-square-foot wrestling area and locker room has been added on the home side. A larger weight room (268 feet by 42 feet) has been added under the visitors' side.
