The McLean County Cougars will take on the Christian County Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
McLean County came out on top against Hancock County on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Hornets. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Layden Bozarth made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bozarth was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Jaelin Groves was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of McLean County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 15-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Corbin Martin, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
McLean County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Christian County never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Trigg County on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Christian County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for McLean County, their victory bumped their record up to 24-11.
