Waltonville entered their tilt with Goreville on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Blackcats. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackcats, too.

Waltonville pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Goreville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waltonville will host Woodlawn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Goreville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trico at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
