With a playoff win on the line, St. John's Prep rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down the Leominster Blue Devils 48-32. The victory was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.

Despite the loss, Leominster still got an impressive performance from Osiris Lopez, who rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 286 yards and three TDs. Lopez's passing game has become a key predictor of the Blue Devils' success: the team is 6-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Leominster's leading receiver Zackery Oliver was Lopez's top target yet again, picking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. John's Prep's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Leominster, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. St. John's Prep will be playing at home against Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Leominster, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fitchburg at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
