Basketball Game Preview: Greenway Demons vs. Thunderbird Titans

The Greenway Demons will square off against the Thunderbird Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenway is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Last Wednesday, Greenway blew past Moon Valley, posting a 52-22 victory. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 30 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ramsie Hoil, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hoil a new career-high in points. Raven Gayden was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight assists and seven boards.

Greenway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 20 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Thunderbird had to suffer through a 60-12 loss at the hands of Paradise Honors. The match marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Greenway has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Thunderbird, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

Greenway came up short against Thunderbird when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 45-40. Can Greenway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
