The Walker Wildcats waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 27 straight wins but they left with 28. They breezed by East Ascension at home to the tune of 89-10. Walker has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 games by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiya Vann, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kennedi Ard, who scored 16 points along with five steals.
Walker's victory was their 34th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-1. As for East Ascension, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-7.
Walker will play host again and welcome the Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Live Oak will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Wildcats are ranked first). As for East Ascension, they will head out on the road to take on the Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Denham Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
