While losing is never fun, iSchool of Lewisville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 387th in Texas, while Wasatch Academy is ranked second in Utah).
ISchool of Lewisville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Lawal, who scored 22 points. That was a full 40.7% of iSchool of Lewisville's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Taylor-Franklyn, who scored nine points.
ISchool of Lewisville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Wasatch Academy, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
ISchool of Lewisville on the road again on Saturday and play against Simeon at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Wasatch Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Desert Valley Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
