The Pacifica Christian/Orange County Tritons were the 54-44 winner over the Fairmont Prep Huskies when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Pacifica Christian/Orange County took a 66-47 bruising from Fairmont Prep on Saturday.
Several Tritons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Stewart, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Logan Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Pacifica Christian/Orange County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pacifica Christian/Orange County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10. As for Fairmont Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pacifica Christian/Orange County will take on Capistrano Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capistrano Valley Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Pacifica Christian/Orange County is ranked 94th). As for Fairmont Prep, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Orangewood Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Orangewood Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Fairmont Prep likes a good challenge.
