Norfolk is 0-10 against Lincoln Southwest since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Norfolk Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks at 5:45 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Norfolk proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 24) but on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Columbus and snuck past 39-36. Norfolk didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.
Norfolk relied on the efforts of Skylar Indra, who scored 13 points, and Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southwest entered their tilt with Columbus with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lincoln Southwest simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Columbus 59-24 at home. Lincoln Southwest has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
Kennadi Williams was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Ansley Throener was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Norfolk's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Lincoln Southwest, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Norfolk was dealt a bruising 53-26 defeat at the hands of Lincoln Southwest in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Norfolk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
