Volleyball Recap: Pine View Find Success

Pine View's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Desert Hills Thunder. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 14-25, 25-18, 25-17.

Nathan Mitchell paced Pine View's offense, picking up 21 kills. Mitchell got some help from Isaiah Warner and his 38 assists. Mitchell was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Desert Hills' loss came despite strong showings from Kai James and Gerritt Grondel. James had 16 digs and two assists, while Grondel had five digs and two blocks. That's the most digs James has posted over his last 15 games.

Pine View's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Desert Hills, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pine View is set to face off against their familiar foe Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Desert Hills will take on rival Hurricane at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
