Two dominant forwards in Tavion Williams and Brady Koehler are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Ben Davis Giants will face off against the Cathedral Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ben Davis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season.
Last Saturday, Ben Davis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-50 to Lawrence Central.

Jahmir Avery put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 5-for-11 en route to 17 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Jashawn Ladd was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cathedral entered their tilt with East Chicago Central on Saturday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Cardinals 101-58. The Fighting Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Ben Davis better keep an eye on Koehler. He was instrumental in Cathedral's win, going 5-for-8 on his way to 18 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Koehler's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien Smith, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 20 points.
Cathedral smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.
Cathedral's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.8 points over those games. As for Ben Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ben Davis has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cathedral struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ben Davis came up short against Cathedral when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 73-64. Can Ben Davis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
