Broadneck is 8-0 against North County since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Broadneck Bruins will face off against the North County Knights at 5:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Broadneck's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Annapolis by a score of 35-28.
Among those leading the charge was Eli Harris, who picked up 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Patrick Doyle was in the mix too, providing Broadneck with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, North County brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They walked away with a 40-30 win over Severna Park on Friday.
North County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darius Burley, who threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was JaRon Holland, who picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
North County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Martin Ohakah and Cameron Eichelberger who racked up five sacks between them.
Broadneck's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-2. They've been dominating across those matches too: they took their wins by an average of 29 points. As for North County, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 3-4.
Everything went Broadneck's way against North County in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 as Broadneck made off with a 49-26 win. Will Broadneck repeat their success, or does North County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
