The Celebration Storm are taking a road trip to square off against the Poinciana Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Celebration will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Gateway on Tuesday. The Storm were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Panthers. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Bella Bayona was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Bayona was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gigi Reyes and Ariana Rosado did most of the damage at the plate: Reyes went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Rosado got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Rosado a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maria La Cruz, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
Celebration was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Poinciana, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Liberty on Tuesday.
Like Celebration, Poinciana also got a great game from a two-way player: Savannah Alsen. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Alsen has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Poinciana got a massive performance out of Izabella Rodriguez, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Ashley Figueroa was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Poinciana's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Celebration, their record is now 8-9.
Celebration might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Poinciana when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
