Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). They were the clear victors by a 22-12 margin over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Longhorns, who have now won ten matches in a row.
Legacy let Rylee Madden and Sofia Nazario run wild. Madden went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Nazario got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Nazario a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Beebe, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
Legacy pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
