Baseball Recap: Silverdale Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Pittsburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silverdale Academy). They never let the South Pittsburg Pirates get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Caleb Voss was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Melton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Silverdale Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Silverdale Academy pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for South Pittsburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy will venture away from home to face off against Baylor at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Pittsburg, they will head out to take on Grundy County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
