Osbourn is 0-5 against Freedom since March of 2022 but things could change on Monday. Osbourn will be playing in front of their home fans against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. Osbourn has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Osbourn lost 21-5 to Patriot on Friday.
Osbourn saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Britney Reyes, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run. Another was Maya Mira, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Freedom had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 22-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Annalisa Wenger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Freedom got a massive performance out of McKenzie Powell, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Powell has posted since back in May of 2024. Ashleigh Bronowicz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
Freedom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .917. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Osbourn now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Osbourn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Freedom struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Osbourn might still be hurting after the 18-2 defeat they got from Freedom in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can Osbourn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
