The Bland Tigers will face off against the Celeste Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bland knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Celeste likes a good challenge.
If Bland beats Celeste with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Tigers beat Wolfe City on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-10. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Bland let KK Lopez and Kamryn Wade run wild. Lopez scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances, while Wade scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Wade a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Zoey Lawson, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Celeste made easy work of North Hopkins on Friday and carried off a 9-2 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Madilen Fronterhouse made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Morgan Nickell was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Mya Mainord was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Celeste kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 13 consecutive games.
Celeste is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Bland, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .536. However, it's not like Celeste struggles in that department as they've averaged .563. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bland might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Celeste when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
