The Edgewood Mustangs will square off against the Northview Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Edgewood managed to slip by Greencastle the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 10-3 to the Tiger Cubs on Tuesday. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Edgewood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Hudson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI. Aaron Murphy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Northview and Sullivan meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Knights fell just short of the Golden Arrows by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered against the Golden Arrows since April 11, 2018.

Edgewood's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Northview, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Everything went Edgewood's way against Northview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Edgewood made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
