After flying high against the Tri-Cities Christian Eagles last Wednesday, the Hampton Bulldogs came back down to earth. Hampton was dealt a 81-41 defeat at the hands of David Crockett on Thursday. Hampton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-18.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead David Crockett to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laney Britton, who scored 19 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Brylee Tullock was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with 4 steals.
Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for David Crockett, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton is on the road again on Friday and play against Unicoi County at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Unicoi County is ranked 101st, while Hampton is ranked 123rd). As for David Crockett, they will head out on the road to face off against Providence Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Providence Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
