After a string of five wins, Wylie East's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 66-56 to the Cedar Hill Longhorns. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Longhorns are ranked 81st).

Wylie East's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cedar Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.

Wylie East and West Mesquite will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedar Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Humble at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Humble likes a good challenge.
