Marin Catholic (Kentfield, Calif.) snapped the 13-game winning streak of
Sutter (Calif.), with a 23-7 victory on Saturday.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at seven. The Wildcats took the lead for good on a touchdown pass by
Jared Goff with 9:00 left in the third quarter.
With the win Marin Catholic extended its winning streak to 12 games. MC defeated the Gauchos 31-28 last week.
Goff was the top performer for the Kentfield school. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Trent Little played well for the Huskies. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Sutter's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Little in the second quarter.
The Wildcats went into the matchup giving up only 13.6 points per game. SHS's seven points were well below its season average of 43.2 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Sutter, which notched a 38-31 victory over West Valley in its previous outing.
