While Piper's victory against West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates won by a run and slipped past the Chargers 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won four in a row.

Myles Ross was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

Piper pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14-3 record this season.
