The Wekiva Mustangs lost against the Olympia Titans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Wekiva took a 63-44 bruising from Olympia. While losing is never fun, Wekiva can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Olympia is ranked 18th).
Kameren Wright was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Olympia. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least 25% of Olympia's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucca Reinehr, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Wekiva bumped their record down to 5-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Olympia, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Wekiva will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Dr. Phillips at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. As for Olympia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
