After flying high against Plains on Tuesday, Ropes came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Sundown Roughnecks by a score of 45-43 on Thursday. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Sundown found their leader in freshman Kelbie Powell, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avyian McGlasson, who posted six points and three steals.
Ropes' loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Sundown, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.
