Basketball Recap: Incarnate Word Academy Beats New Braunfels Christian Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Incarnate Word Academy won the last time they faced New Braunfels Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Incarnate Word Academy Angels' way against the New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats as the Incarnate Word Academy Angels made off with a 54-32 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Angels sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Incarnate Word Academy was led to victory by Abbey Sachanowicz and Bella Taylor. Sachanowicz almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists, while Taylor posted 11 points and five steals. Those nine assists gave Sachanowicz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Brown, who put up ten points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Incarnate Word Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Braunfels Christian Academy only posted three assists.

New Braunfels Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ellie Schwandt, who had 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals, and Avery Shahan, who earned six points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 50% of New Braunfels Christian Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Incarnate Word Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-18 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Incarnate Word Academy has already played their next game, a 38-30 defeat against John Paul II on the 24th. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 94-13 loss against Geneva on the 24th.
