Softball Recap: Northridge Academy Wins Going Away Against Fulton

Northridge Academy put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They blew past the Fulton Jaguars 25-0. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Alondra Laguna made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jackie Nettles was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Guadalupe Ortiz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Northridge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Northridge Academy pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fulton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Northridge Academy has already played their next matchup, an 18-3 loss against Sherman Oaks CES on the 1st. As for Fulton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-6 defeat against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences on the 1st.
