Calvary Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Destini Gooddine, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Gooddine is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bre Jones, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Savannah Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.7 points per game. As for Calvary Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Christian will square off against St. Vincent's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (St. Vincent's is ranked 435th, while Savannah Christian is ranked 446th). Calvary Day's road trip will continue as they head out to face Beach at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
