This season hasn't been kind to the Eagle Christian Academy Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were dealt a 55-27 defeat at the hands of Methodist Children's Home on Monday. Eagle Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Methodist Children's Home apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
It was another big night for Daraun Taylor, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five steals for Methodist Children's Home. Taylor is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Londen Bickham was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Eagle Christian Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Methodist Children's Home, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagle Christian Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Cornerstone Christian Academy on December 28th. Methodist Children's Home will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
