Crete had won two straight games and Carter Rezny did his part to make it three on Monday. The Cardinals walked away with a 48-41 victory over the Maryville Spoofhounds thanks in part to Rezny, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 24 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Crete's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Oglesby, who posted eight points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game.

Crete's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Maryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Crete and Skutt Catholic will face off at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Maryville, they will challenge Mid-Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
