Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Sentinels vs. Bingham Miners

Mountain Ridge has gone 8-2 against Bingham recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Sentinels will challenge the Miners at 3:30 p.m. Mountain Ridge will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Mountain Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Copper Hills, who was ranked 24th at the time (Mountain Ridge was ranked fifth). The Sentinels blew past the Grizzlies 12-4 on Friday. The Sentinels haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Mountain Ridge got a great performance from Schafer Dixon as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Dixon a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brody Garrard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Goff, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Mountain Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Hills only posted an OBP of .375.

Bingham came out on top against Westlake on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Miners walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Thunder. The game was the first time the Miners have beaten the Thunder on their field since May 4, 2018.

Mountain Ridge's record is now 14-5. As for Bingham, their record now sits at an identical 14-5.

Mountain Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Bingham when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Sentinels repeat their success, or do the Miners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
