If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Riverdale. They will take on Gulf Coast at home at 7:30 PM on Friday. Gulf Coast will need to watch out since Riverdale have now posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Riverdale put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They put a hurting on Ida Baker to the tune of 35-0. Junior Da'reous Bell and junior Adarian Robinson were among the main playmakers for Riverdale as the former rushed for 90 yards and 1 touchdown and the latter rushed for 71 yards and 1 touchdown.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their contest two weeks ago against Naples, Gulf Coast were happy to find some success. Gulf Coast took the game and then some with a 52-14 win over Estero. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Gulf Coast's flat performance the contest before.
Their wins bumped Gulf Coast to 3-2 and Riverdale to 5-0. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Riverdale and Gulf Coast will really light up the scoreboard.
