The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will face off against the Bishop Moore Hornets at TBD on Thursday. Lake Highland Prep will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Lake Highland Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 66-59 win over Lake Region. Given Lake Highland Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Lake Region is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop Moore had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 73-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bishop Moore can attribute much of their success to Cameron Codio, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds, and Justin Suarez, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Suarez has scored all season. Mark Dadlani was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Lake Highland Prep is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. As for Bishop Moore, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
