Audrey Mulaski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leah Kendall, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lauren McMahon, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Apex pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Green Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Green Hope hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Apex struggles in that department as they've averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
