The Easley Green Wave entered their tilt with the River Bluff Gators with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Easley walked away with a 38-30 win over River Bluff on Friday. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 11 to 3 on the offensive boards, as Easley did.
Easley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Proctor, who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Abbi Vite, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, River Bluff saw an underclassman step up: Jenna Johnson scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The game was Johnson's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
River Bluff struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Easley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for River Bluff, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Easley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marvin Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Marvin Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. River Bluff will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aiken at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Aiken is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
