Basketball Recap: Amir Aaron Key Part of a Team Effort in Blue Streaks Win

Sandusky posted their biggest win since December 28, 2023 on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Norwalk Truckers as the Sandusky Blue Streaks made off with a 73-50 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Streaks also won the last time the pair played back in February.

Sandusky got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amir Aaron out in front who went 6 for 13 on his way to 13 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Aaron a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Jason Henlon, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 16 points and three steals.

Sandusky smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

The victory got Sandusky back to even at 2-2. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandusky will venture away from home to take on St. Edward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in St. Edward's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Norwalk and Clyde will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Norwalk likes a good challenge.
