Baseball Recap: Franklin Makes It Three in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilson, Franklin was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Eagle Rock Eagles. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 6-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Asher Epifano made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Epifano was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other pitching news, Edurado Cuevas looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Franklin's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Back at the plate, Joseph Galindo was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Jimmy Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Franklin pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Eagle Rock, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
