The St. Joseph Academy Flashes will square off against the Palatka Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph Academy 2.9, Palatka 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Monday, St. Joseph Academy made easy work of Ridgeview and carried off a 12-1 victory. The Flashes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Bodie Figeon and Cullen Garner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Figeon pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Garner tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Figeon has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Figeon scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Garner scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Figeon posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other pitching news, Brett Belloni looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Robshaw, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Connor Lewis, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
St. Joseph Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeview only posted a batting average of .150.
Meanwhile, Palatka waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Rams since March 5, 2021.
Cason Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Mason Malloy was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Palatka pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Joseph Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Palatka struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Joseph Academy skirted past Palatka 3-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Flashes repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
