The Riverside Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 69-37 whooping from St. Albans. Riverside has struggled against St. Albans recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Riverside still got an impressive performance from Laila Campbell, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Starsick, who scored eight points.
Riverside bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Albans, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Riverside will be playing at home against Greenbrier East at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Albans won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Gallia at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. South Gallia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 187th in Ohio, while St. Albans is ranked 24th in West Virginia).
