Indian Hill and Madeira are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Braves will be playing at home against the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Indian Hill got the win against Taylor by a conclusive 17-6. The win continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won five in a row.
Ben Sichel tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Ashton Graham was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Drost, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Indian Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Madeira never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Deer Park with a sharp 17-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS, who have now won six games in a row.
Braden Wallace looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Carson Shafer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Sammy McClain was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Madeira pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Indian Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Both Indian Hill and Madeira just can't seem to miss. The Braves have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Madeira struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Indian Hill couldn't quite finish off Madeira in their previous matchup on April 11th and fell 4-2. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
