3A District 6 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Lakeland Christian took down Shorecrest Prep 45-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Christian Alexander threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 17 yards in the win.
The Vikings made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,316 from 3,625. The improvement was the result of 45-3 victory over the Chargers last week.
Jordan White was the best wideout in 3A District 6 this week as Lakeland Christian beat Shorecrest Prep. White racked up seven receptions for 111 yards. Brad Peace helped Lakeland Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 48 yards.
Kaleel Gaines was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 133 yards as Frostproof defeated Dave Moore's team. Teammate Trevis Herrington added to the ground attack by rushing for 64 yards.
Lakeland Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Alexander has thrown for 1663 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while White has 34 catches for 597 yards. Rafeal Pressley leads the league in rushing with 707 yards.
Two of the top units in 3A District 6 will face off this week when the Vikings take on the Bulldogs. Lakeland Christian's offense has racked up 299 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Frostproof has allowed only 111 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Price Harris' team takes on the Vikings. The Bulldogs are in third place, while Lakeland Christian is in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when Frostproof and the Vikings face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 174 this season, while Lakeland Christian has scored 299. Frostproof scored 24 points last week as it topped Tenoroc.
