The Lake City Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 76-50 defeat to Crestwood might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Crestwood is ranked 13th).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blayne Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Dallas Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Lake City bumped their record down to 6-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Crestwood, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Lake City the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Camden at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Crestwood, they will head out on the road to take on Darlington at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Darlington will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
