Old Fort extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-16 in the process. They fell 7-2 to the Lakota Raiders. On Lakota's side, Hunter Sweeney and Grant Scherger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sweeney didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Scherger pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Lakota is 3-1 when Scherger allows one or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise. At the plate, Sweeney got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double, while Scherger went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Grant Bomer was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Jacob Hines was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
