North Clarion will face off against Kane at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Clarion is looking for their season's first win.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between North Clarion and Brookville, and Brookville kept the tradition alive. The Wolves came up short against the Raiders on Monday, falling 14-2.
Ryan Pappas was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Hartle, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kane). They blew past Smethport 19-1 on Tuesday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Hubbers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Phinn Chamberlain made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kyle Zook was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock Wensel, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Kane was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
North Clarion's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Kane, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Clarion has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kane struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
