The Jupiter Christian Eagles were the 38-34 winner over the Pine Knights when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Jupiter Christian falling 47-33. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 443rd, while Pine is ranked 208th).
Despite the loss, Jupiter Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emilia Edgar scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Edgar is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.
Emily Shirk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pine, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Shirk has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Aspen Schellenberg was another key contributor, scoring two points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Jupiter Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Pine, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jupiter Christian will square off against Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pine, they will head out on the road to face off against Dade Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dade Christian comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
